Hot Chocolate is a cold-weather favorite. Let’s face it, it has a bad reputation for being ‘unhealthy’. But fear not, my recipe is quick, easy, and delicious. A few simple ingredients and voila, you’ve got a warm, satisfying treat. Say goodbye to guilt and hello to my easy protein hot chocolate, your new go-to for a sweet and comforting indulgence on a chilly day.

This is the quickest and easiest recipe ever. My favorite ready-to-drink protein is Fairlife Nutrition Plan—this can be hard to find lately, which is frustrating because I use it in a lot of my recipes. You can get it on Amazon, but it’s pricey. I’ve had luck finding it at BJ’s, Sam’s, and Costco. I also keep the Nestle No Sugar added cocoa mix on hand because it’s the lowest calorie mix I can find and it’s also delicious mixed in yogurt. Anyway…for this recipe you can use what you have on hand. Make it your own!
Protein Hot Chocolate
Ingredients
- 3½ fl oz Fairlife Nutrition Plan Protein Drink (or your favorite ready-made protein shake)
- 1 packet Nestle Sugar Free Hot Cocoa Mix (*you can use what you have on hand)
- ¾ cup Hot Water
- 3 tbsp Whipped Topping
- 1 tsp Topping of your choice *OPTIONAL (caramel sauce, chocolate syrup, sprinkles, marshmallows, crushed candy cane)
Instructions
- Heat protein shake in the microwave for 30-60 seconds, add cocoa mix and stir or froth until mixed. Add hot water to fill mug. Froth or stir until well mixed and frothy, top with whipped topping and caramel sauce, candy cane, or chocolate sauce for garnish.*Topping choices may change nutritional and/or point values.*The brand cocoa mix you use will affect nutrition and/or point values.
